How Our Pricing Works

Most author services companies hide their prices until you fill in a form. We would rather show you where each service starts, so you can plan a budget before you talk to anyone.

Every price on this page is a starting price. You will see it written as "from". Your own quote can be higher or, for a short project, can land close to the starting figure. It depends on the length of your manuscript, how much work it needs, how many illustrations or pages are involved, and what else you want bundled in.

A quote is free. It is written, it lists what is included, and it lists anything that is quoted separately. Our team confirms the number of revision rounds and the timeline in that document, so there are no surprises after you say yes.

Prices are in US dollars. If a service is not listed here, ask us. Anything custom is quoted per project.

What Your Written Quote Always Covers

Whatever you choose from the lists below, the quote you receive spells out the same basics, so you can compare it fairly with any other company.

KD Prime Publishers pricing overview

Included in every quote

  • The exact scope of work, in plain language
  • The number of revision rounds
  • The timeline, written into the quote rather than promised on the phone
  • Who owns the finished work (you, once the project is paid in full)
  • What is quoted separately, such as printing, proof copies or distribution
  • A confidentiality agreement on request, which matters most for ghostwriting

We do not guarantee sales, rankings, awards or reviews, and neither should anyone else who is quoting you. What you pay for is professional work delivered to the scope in your quote.

Pricing Mistakes Authors Make

KD Prime Publishers pricing overview

What Moves a Price Up or Down

Length

More words, pages or illustrations mean more hours of work.

Condition of the manuscript

A clean, well-organized draft needs less editing than one with many structural problems.

Complexity

Illustrated interiors, tables, poetry and research-heavy topics take more time than plain text.

Bundles

Combining services, such as editing, cover and formatting, lets us scope the whole project at once.

Printing and proofs

Printed copies and proof copies are quoted separately because they depend on the printer.

If your budget is fixed, tell us up front. We can often suggest which parts of a project to do first.

For background on the costs that sit outside our fees, see the U.S. Copyright Office registration guide, the International ISBN Agency and Amazon KDP print options.

  • Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about our pricing, quotes and what is included.

No. Each figure is a starting price, shown as "from". Your written quote gives the final number based on your scope, length and schedule, and it lists anything quoted separately.

Yes. A quote costs nothing and carries no obligation. It lists scope, revision rounds and the timeline, so you can compare it with other companies before you decide.

Each quote states a number of revision rounds, and the work in that scope is included. Extra rounds or changes outside the scope are quoted separately, so you always know in advance.

You do, once the project is paid in full. You keep your copyright and royalties. The terms are written in your quote and in our terms and conditions.

Often yes. Many authors start with editing, then add a cover and formatting later. Tell us the order you prefer and we will scope each stage separately.

Our refund policy explains what happens to payments for work already started. Read it before you approve a quote so you know where you stand.

Some work depends too much on the project to name a fair starting price, for example children's book printing. We explain the cost factors on each service page and quote it per project.

No, and nobody should. We do not guarantee sales, rankings, awards or reviews. We guarantee only that the work follows the scope in your written quote.
